While golf gloves aren’t required for golfing, you’ll notice a majority of golfers on the course wear them. But why do you need golf gloves? Most golfers wear gloves for golfing to ensure they have a strong grip on their club. If a grip is too slippery, it can cause a golfer to tense up more in their hands and arms, which can affect their stroke. With more friction between the hand and the grip, golfers can have a stronger swing, especially when weather and temperature come into play.
Additionally, golfers wear golf gloves to prevent blisters and calluses. When you swing a golf club, there’s friction between your hand and the grip. If you’re not wearing a golf glove, this friction can cause blisters on the palms of your hands.
Hand circumference and finger length are the main factors in determining which golf glove size you need. However, proportions between these two measurements are important considerations that will help you decide whether a regular or cadet glove size works best for you.
